Since its introduction in 2009, the PowerTIG 250EX has earned a reputation as a dependable, no-nonsense workhorse. Its reliability, arc quality, and straightforward operation have made it well-known in the industry.
As an AC/DC TIG and DC Stick welder, the PowerTIG 250EX continues to stand apart in its class. While other machines have attempted to replicate its combination of performance, features, and value, the 250EX has remained a proven choice for welders who need serious capability without unnecessary complexity.
Its intuitive setup and carefully selected feature set give both professional and developing welders the control they need without overwhelming them with functions they don't.
KEY FEATURES:
- Fully Adjustable AC/DC TIG Pulse: Pulse capability is available in both AC and DC TIG modes, with an adjustable frequency range of 0–500 Hz. This broad range provides greater control over heat input, puddle control, and weld appearance.
- 60% Duty Cycle: The PowerTIG 250EX offers a strong 60% duty cycle, reinforcing its ability to handle demanding welding applications and extended periods of operation.
- Single- and Three-Phase Operation: 240V single-phase and three-phase input capability provides greater installation flexibility for home shops, fabrication facilities, and professional work environments.
- Intuitive Color-Coded Controls: The color-coded analog control layout is purposefully designed to group related functions together, making setup faster and easier to understand regardless of the operator's experience level.
- Low-Amp AC and DC Starts: Excellent low-amperage starting performance in both AC and DC TIG modes provides greater control when welding thin materials while still delivering the output needed for heavier applications. Smooth arc termination helps improve weld quality and reduce the potential for contamination.
- DC Stick Capability: DC Stick operation provides excellent performance with E7018 electrodes as well as common general-purpose iron-powder and titania-coated electrodes.
- Proven Inverter Technology: The inverter-based design helps reduce overall machine weight while improving electrical efficiency and maintaining strong welding performance.
- Water-Cooler Compatible: A dedicated 240V outlet on the rear of the machine provides convenient power for compatible Everlast water coolers, allowing for a cleaner and more integrated water-cooled TIG setup.
