The NOVA 17 Rigid Series Air-Cooled TIG torch (3.0 Version) features a non-adjustable neck design with improved durability and flexibility of the Ultra-Flex torch cables over previous Nova 1.0 and 2.0 versions. The torch design is of a universal WP- type TIG torch design which means compatible consumables are available at almost any local welding supply store that sells TIG accessories. The sturdy fixed neck design is meant for rugged use and resists torch breakage. It is rated for 150A DC and 120Amps AC use at 60% duty cycle. The traditional single line cable-in-gas-line design maximizes portabilty and reduces total weight thanks to the silicone based torch cables. The torch is compact as the 9 series from the neck to the handle, but uses the larger 26 and 18 series consumables. For maximum performance in close quarters or for reduced profile, consider the Stubby adapter kit to adapt 9 series consumables to the torch. While the torch can be used at higher Amperages, the user should be conscious of the limits of the torch. The 35 DINSE-Type power connector measures approximately 3/8" in diameter at the connector pin and fits Everlast units under 200A with a DINSE 25-style connector with a built in gas solenoid except later model PowerTIG 185 units, PowerPro 164Si units. NOTE: Measure inside female diameter of the machine-side power connector to confirm fit. DINSE 25 connectors are smaller and measure approximately 3/8" inside the female connector vs approximately 1/2" of the DINSE 35 connector. This is not a gas-valve torch and the unit must have a built in solenoid to control gas flow.
