Spool guns are economical alternatives for welding aluminum or stainless steels greater than 1/8” in thickness. Thinner thicknesses are not recommended due to the spray arc process used to weld aluminum with wire feeders. These are ideal for small projects or for repairs where welds must be done quickly and efficiently, but when the budget isn’t there for purchasing large, expensive spools of filler wire. Everlast PowerSpool guns can also be used when doing light manufacturing, including manufacturing small boats, and toolboxes.
When selecting a MIG spool gun for your new Everlast MIG welder, be sure to select the right one. Our guns are designed to fit with the existing Euro quick connect installed on the welder. These guns are high quality OEM equipment and will hold up to years of use, whether you use a spool gun welding aluminum or welding steel. Be sure to select the spool guns designated with the suffix MTS for use with the PowerMTS 211Si, 251Si, Power i-MIG 275S, and Power i-MIG 275P for proper operation with Everlast. Any MIG spool gun not identified by MTS will fit the Power i-MIG 140E and Power i-MIG 200 and most Power i-MIG 205 MIG welders. Spool guns are not designed to be used with CC power sources such as TIG or Stick units.
If you’ve purchased the Power i-MIG 275P, the Everlast push-pull gun will work well with this unit if you are wanting to weld aluminum and take advantage of the pulse capacity of this welder. The push-pull gun will only operate with the Power i-MIG 275P, so be sure that when you are ordering this product that you have also ordered the Power i-MIG 275P and wish to weld aluminum with MIG wire sizes greater than 4” in diameter.
